Nike “Paraba” Sneaker

Nike “Paraba” Sneaker
Designed for Nike, 2019

This shoe was my way of carrying Bolivia into design. The palette came from the paraba parrot. Its flashes of red, blue, and green. A bird both vibrant and endangered. I paired that vibrancy with black, a reference to the ash and devastation of the fires that swept through Bolivia in 2019.

For me, it wasn’t just about making a sneaker, but translating an ecological and cultural memory into something wearable. The shoe became both celebration and warning: the brilliance of life, and the shadow of what we stand to lose.
