Collab with my Niece

Art with my niece
Mixed media on photograph

This work began with me choosing a palette for my niece, then letting her freely paint over the images. I had first layered Bolivian motifs ( an aguayo and a mask )and after she left her marks, I returned to the piece, pulling out fragments of the mask and figure while preserving her raw strokes.

The process became less about control and more about allowing chance and play to enter the work. Her gestures, unfiltered and instinctive, mingle with mine, echoing how culture and memory are passed down. Not untouched, but layered, interrupted, and reshaped by the next generation.
