“You’re so Exotic” collage

“You’re So Exotic”
Collage, published in an LA zine for Latinas

This collage overlays a Diablada mask onto a nude female form, censored by the words “you’re so exotic.” It plays on the double bind of identity: the pride of carrying Bolivian heritage alongside the objectification Latinas often face. By merging mask and body, the piece asks what it means to be seen, as culture, as stereotype, as desire, and what it costs to hold all of that at once.
